Quick answers about plans, provinces, traceability and getting help
These answers reflect how AIMS is described on this site and in the product design (Lite vs Pro, provinces and RMIS). For step-by-step app instructions, see the User Guide (PDF) or compare AIMS Lite and Pro.
AIMS (Animal Identification Movement System) is a livestock traceability and management platform for South African farmers. It helps you manage animal identification, link tags to animals, record vaccinations, manage transfers and support compliance with industry traceability requirements, including integration with the Red Meat Industry Scheme (RMIS) where applicable.
Dedicated regional AIMS environments are available across South Africa, including the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Free State and Northern Cape. Each province uses its own regional setup so your farm data and settings align with the correct area.
AIMS is region-specific. When you create an account or sign in, you select the province where you farm so you are directed to the correct regional site with the right configuration for your area (the system is structured around provincial tenants in the product design).
AIMS Lite is the free tier focused on core traceability: tag management, livestock registration, transfers, RMIS-related workflows, vaccination records, bulk vaccination upload, and vaccination reports and exports (including PDF and CSV where supported).
AIMS Pro adds production-management features for commercial herds, such as weaning weights and ratios, inter-calving period (ICP) tracking, pregnancy diagnosis, production profiles (cow cards), animal ranking, weight charts, a farm map and advanced reports. See the full comparison on Compare Plans.
AIMS Lite is free. AIMS Pro is planned at R 1,500 per year (as shown in the pricing section). Pro capability is still in development—check pricing on the home page for the latest “coming soon” status.
RMIS (Red Meat Industry Scheme) is the industry traceability framework for red meat in South Africa. AIMS integrates with RMIS so you can align tag registration, transfers and related movements with scheme requirements.
In practice, your account may use an RMIS participation token (set on your profile in the app) so AIMS can call RMIS on your behalf when you perform eligible actions such as certain transfers or tag workflows—consistent with how the integration is implemented in the AIMS solution.
Yes. AIMS Lite includes vaccination records, bulk vaccination upload, vaccination reports and certificates, and export options such as PDF and CSV for supported workflows—matching the Lite feature list published on this site.
Download the AIMS Farmers User Guide (PDF) from the footer under Resources. It covers tasks such as managing livestock, transfers and vaccinations in the application.
Agri Eastern Cape (AgriEC) supports farmers using AIMS. Use our Support page for email and phone numbers, or Contact Us for the office address and map.
AIMS lets you record and manage animal movements (incoming and outgoing transfers) as part of traceability. Where your account is set up for RMIS, these flows can connect to industry transfer processes so your movement history stays aligned with scheme requirements.
